This page was made to provide our audience with supplemental information that can further educate them on ways to combat mental illness and improve their mental health.

Letter to our audience:

In today’s world, many people are used to being stressed, anxious, and inundated with different tasks. It is often hard for people to take a moment and take time to process how they are feeling. This habit of “grinding through” can be helpful for a certain period of time, but if not balanced out with rest it can lead to fatigue, doubt, and lackluster performance. Medical students are people that tend to be perfectionists and do whatever they need to do in order to succeed academically and clinically. However, it is seen in research throughout the years that personal success outside of education is usually pushed to the side and disregarded by many. Most people have struggled or no someone who has struggled with their mental health because of their environment, due to mistakes they have made, and in many cases because of their negative perception of themselves. To improve one’s mental health, one must acknowledge what is harming it. Medical students and physicians often keep their focus solely on who they can help instead of also taking into account how they can help themselves. We all need to take care of ourselves, we all need to prioritize our health and we all need to construct a mental health routine that fits our specific needs. This site is meant to educate the public on what mental health is and how it can be improved. It is our hope that medical students acknowledge their feelings along with their responsibilities to perform in medicine. It is our hope to reach as many students as possible to help them form better habits, live happier lives, and develop into stellar physicians that can advance the field of medicine as a whole.

Take a step today, to be a better you tomorrow!
